The Valley City Fire Department responded to a fire Friday morning at the Webb-Stiles Co., where Fire Chief Greg Smith said it was the quick thinking of employees that kept the blaze from escalating. Crews arrived on scene around 9am to a fire that was caused by a piece of faulty equipment. Employees called 911 to report that a vacuum that picks up debris at the factory was smoking and that they pushed it outside before it caught fire. No injuries were reported in the incident.
