Akron-based GOJO Industries says it will comply with the federal government after being warned earlier this month about how it markets its Purell hand sanitizer.  The company, which of course has a manufacturing and warehousing site in Wooster, was told by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that it cannot claim that Purell is effective in preventing certain diseases and viruses because it has not been proven to do so.  GOJO says the warning pertained only to its marketing and not the actual product, meaning there will be no recalls of any kind and production will continue unimpeded.
