A former Wayne County man currently serving 20 years in prison for his involvement in a massive Ponzi scheme is now going to be resentenced.  65-year old Eric Bartoli swindled investors out of roughly $65 million back in the 1990s and then spent more than a decade on the run, before finally being arrested in South America.  A federal judge recently vacated Bartoli’s original sentence from 2016 after prosecutors conceded that the maximum penalties considered in determining it were too high.  The date for the resentencing was scheduled to be announced yesterday, but was delayed because officials still haven’t decided whether or not Bartoli’s victims should be allowed to attend.
