Former State Representative Chuck Calvert has passed away. Calvert, who lived in Rittman, died last week at the age of 84, following a period of declining health. Calvert grew up in Medina County, graduating from Buckeye High School in 1957. He would eventually work at NASA’s John Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. After retiring from NASA, Calvert was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives, serving from 1996 to 2006. After leaving the house, Calvert went on to serve on the Ohio Elections Commission and as chairman for the Republican Party of Medina County.
