Four Cleveland Guardians were announced as recipients of the Gold Glove Award for the 2022 season, breaking a franchise record for the most in a single season.
The previous record was three players, set in 2000 with second baseman Roberto Alomar, shortstop Omar Vizquel and third baseman Travis Fryman.
Pitcher Shane Beiber, second baseman Andres Gimenez, rookie left fielder Steven Kwan and center fielder Myles Straw were all announced as winners based on their respective positions. All four players are receiving their first Gold Glove awards of their careers.
Gimenez and third baseman Jose Ramirez are also nominees for the Silver Slugger award, which will be announced on Thursday, November 10th, at 6 p.m.
