Gas tax adds more revenue into the county

Tax revenue from the new gas tax has already paid dividends in the few short months since it was put in place. The Wayne County Engineer has taken advantage of the extra revenue to help with multiple road projects. As a whole the county saw an extra $270,000 in revenue from the 10.5 cent increase that was enacted in July. Wooster expects to see almost $400,000 in added revenue, while Orrville expects $200,000 and Rittman should see an extra $154,000 in revenue from the gas tax.
