Thanks to a $28,000 grant from the Wayne County Community Foundation, the Wooster City School District was recently able to purchase six evacuation chairs. Two of the chairs, which help students with disabilities navigate staircases in the event of an emergency, are located at Wooster High School, while the other four are located throughout the district’s other buildings. Of the nearly 1.6 million students in Ohio, more than 270,000 are currently living with some type of mental or physical disability.
