A groundbreaking ceremony for the city of Rittman’s new 200-acre nature preserve was held this week, with officials from both Wayne and Medina counties on-hand for the event.  Tuesday’s groundbreaking included the unveiling of the preserve’s name.  The William J. Robertson Nature Preserve is named in honor of Rittman’s mayor, who helped spearhead the project.  When finished, the preserve will include walking trails, observation decks and launching areas for canoes and kayaks.  As of now, the city is hoping for an opening date in either late October or early November.
