The Cleveland Guardians lost to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday evening by a final score of 5-4. The loss for Cleveland marks the end of a four game win streak, and dropped the team two games below .500 on the season.

For Cleveland (Now 23-25), 3B Ramirez started the scoring in the top of the 1st with a 372 ft homer to right field , followed by a long 438 ft homer to right from 2B Giminez in the top of the 2nd. The rest of the scoring for Cleveland came in the top of the fifth, as we first saw RF Steven Kwan hit into a fielders choice in order to score OF Oscar Gonzales, then OF Myles Straw ground out in order to score Giminez. Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be enough for the Guards.  Starting pitcher Triston Mckenzie got the loss, going 7.0 innings and striking out four batters while allowing three hits and three walks.

For Baltimore (Now 23-32), they got the job done almost entirely with home runs. It started in the bottom of the 1st, when 1B Mancini slammed a 438 footer to center field. In the bottom of the 3rd, LF Hays knocked a 3 run dinger 411 ft to left field, scoring CF Mullins, Mancini and himself. Finally, In the bottom of the 4th 2B Odor went 393 ft to right. They wouldn’t score again after this, but it would be enough for the win. Starting Pitcher Tyler Walls got a No Decision after going 4.0 innings and striking out only one while allowing two hits and two walks. Relief Pitcher Felix Bautista got the W for going 1.0 innings while allowing no hits or walks, putting him at 2-1 currently.

The Guardians will attempt to get back in gear for the rubber match, starting on Sunday, June 5th, with first pitch set for 1:40 p.m (pregame will start airing on WQKT at roughly 1:10pm). Zach Plezac is the presumed starter for the Guardians.
