The Cleveland Guardians were shut out by the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night by a final score of 3-0. The shut out is the second straight against the Orioles and the third time in the last four games for the Guardians.

For Cleveland (68-61), the Guardians as a team only accumulated two total hits the entire night while leaving six runners on base. Starting pitcher Shane Bieber suffered his eighth loss of the season for going 7.0 complete innings, striking out 11 batters but allowing six hits for three earned runs.

For Baltimore (69-61), the Orioles got the lead early due to the first pitch of the game being a solo homerun by outfielder Cedric Mullins, while outfielder Anthony Santander hit a solo homerun only two at-bats later to give Baltimore a 2-0 lead. Meanwhile in the 4th inning, first baseman Ryan Mountcastle hit a solo homerun to extend the Orioles lead to 3-0 and cement the win. Rookie starting pitcher Kyle Bradish got his third win of the season for going 7.0 complete innings, striking out five batters and allowing two hits and three walks for no earned runs.

The Guardians next game will be at home match up against the Seattle Mariners to begin a three-game series on Friday, September 2nd, with first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
