The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Chicago White Sox at home on Monday night by a final score of 3-0, snapping a three-game losing streak.

For Cleveland (21-26), the Guardians took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning when third baseman Gabriel Arias scored due to a wild pitch. Cleveland would later extend the lead with a two-run homerun from catcher Mike Zunino to lead 3-0 and secure the win. Starting pitcher Hunter Gaddis got his first major league win for going 6.0 innings, striking out four batters and allowing two hits and a walk for no runs. Closer Emmanuel Clase got his 16th save of the season for going the 9th inning, striking out a batter and not allowing a hit.

For Chicago (19-30), the White Sox as a team only accumulated three total hits and left five runners on base. Relief pitcher Jimmy Lambert got the start for the injured Mike Clevinger and went a 1.0 scoreless inning with a hit and a walk. Pitcher Jesse Scholtens suffered his second loss of the season for going 5.0 innings, striking out a batter, and allowing two hits and two walks for an earned run.

The Guardians will continue their home series against the White Sox on Tuesday, May 23rd, with first pitch set for 6:10 p.m.
