The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road on Monday night by a final score of 11-0, snapping a four-game losing streak.

For Cleveland (46-18), the Guardians got on the board in the 2nd inning with a two-run home run by shortstop Amed Rosario to give Cleveland a 2-0 lead. Catcher Bo Naylor would extend the Cleveland lead with an RBI double in the 3rd inning to take a 3-0 lead. The 6th inning was a massive one for Cleveland, with RBI doubles by third baseman Jose Ramirez and first baseman Josh Naylor and followed by a two-run home run by second baseman Andres Gimenez to extend the lead to 7-0. Josh Naylor would get another big hit the following 7th inning with a two-run home run, which gave Cleveland a 9-0 lead. Outfielder Steven Kwan hit an RBI single in the 8th inning, while outfielder Myles Straw hit an RBI infield single to give Cleveland an 11-0 lead and eventual win.

Starting pitcher Xzavion Curry went 3.0 innings, struck out two batters, and allowed one hit and one walk for no runs. Relief pitcher Michael Kelly got his first career win for going 1.2 innings, striking out two batters, and allowing two hits and no walks for no runs.

For Pittsburgh (41-53), the Pirates as a team accumulated four total hits, struck out 12 times, and left seven runners on-base.

Rookie starting pitcher Quinn Priester made his major league debut and suffered the loss for going 5.1 innings, striking out two batters, and allowed seven hits and two walks for seven earned runs.

The Guardians will continue their road series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, July 18th, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
