The Cleveland Guardians began a week-long homestand with a first-of-3 game against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight, and won over the NL team by a 6-5  final score. It took 11 innings to finish out and Cleveland won in walk-off fashion.

For Cleveland (Now 53-48), the offense started in the 2nd when 1B Owen Miller hit a 2-run homer to left (398 ft). In the next inning it would be SS Amed Rosario who would hit another 2-run dinger, this time to left center (402 ft). After this, the team would remain quiet until the game went into extra innings. It started in the 10th, when 2B Alex Gimenez singled to right to score 3B Jose Ramirez. Finally, the walk-off game winner would come in the 11th, when Rosario singled to right center to score RF Will Benson, who was just brought up from the minors and was put in for defense in the 9th. The win goes to Sam Hentges (now 3-2) for pitching in relief.

For Arizona (Now 45-57), the offense started in the 2nd when RF Daulton Varsho  homered to right center (397 ft). The big blast in this game for the team came in the 4th however, when 1B Christian Walker hit a 3-run homer to left (394 ft). The only other scoring for the Diamondbacks happened in the 10th, with 2B Ketel Marte grounding into a double play to score a pinch-hitting Joshua Rojas. The loss in this game went to closer Mark Melancon, who is now 3-10 as a closer.

The series will pick up again tommorow evening with a game featuring another 7:10 pm first pitch, pregame coverage starting on WQKT at 6:35p. Triston McKenzie is the probable starter for Cleveland.
