On April 6, the Cleveland Guardians defeated the Minnesota Twins in the second game of a three game series at Target Field in Minnesota. The Guardians are now 2-0 in the series after Saturday’s game ended with a 3-1 victory over the Twins. The Guardians are now 7-2 in the season, and the Twins fall to 3-4.
Minnesota’s only score came from an RBI triple in the bottom of the first inning by left fielder Alex Kirilloff. Cleveland took the lead over Minnesota in the top of the second inning with a 3-run home run by catcher David Fry, making the game score 3-1. The Guardians were able to keep Minnesota scoreless for the rest of the game, despite giving up 17 walks, hitting 3 batters, and going through 7 pitchers. The Guardians’ bullpen pitched a total of 14 strikeouts and the Twins’ pitched 11.
