The Cleveland Guardians fell to the Minnesota Twins on the road Thursday evening by a final score of 1-0. The Guardians were able to win the road series against the Twins, taking two of the three games in Minnesota.

For Cleveland (36-29), the team was only able to get five total hits the entire afternoon, while also only getting one walk and striking out seven times. Starting pitcher Zach Plesac suffered his fifth loss on the season, going 6.0 innings and allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out six batters.

For Minnesota (39-32), the only run of the entire ball game came in the bottom of the 3rd inning due to a solo homerun by outfielder Nick Gordon, which was his second on the entire season so far. Starting pitcher Devin Smeltzer got his fourth win on the season for going 6.0 innings, while striking out three batters and allowing only three hits. Relief pitcher Caleb Thielbar got his first save on the season for going 0.2 innings while striking out the final batter in the game and allowing one hit.

The Guardians will next begin a three-game home series against the Boston Red Sox on Friday, June 24th, with first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
