The Hillsdale Local School District will once again be asking voters to approve the renewal of a 10-year, one and a quarter percent income tax levy. The issue, which the district’s residents rejected last November by less than 60 votes, will appear on the May 2nd ballot. The income tax levy brings in roughly $2.2 million annually. Hillsdale’s treasurer says the district is facing a $54,000 deficit this year, and that number will continue to grow if the levy fails again.
