NEWS RELEASE:
Holmes County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly reports that Operation Blue Light was a success. A total of nine (9) defendants are still in custody in the Holmes County Jail this morning as a result of the operation.
Operation Blue light was the result of several month-long narcotics investigations into various drug crimes throughout Holmes County. At around 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon Deputies, Detectives, LEAD Task Force members, and the Millersburg Police Department were armed with 16 indictments to serve in various areas of Holmes and Southern Wayne Counties.
Three (3) teams were formed by those agencies involved and the warrants were assigned to each team by area. All three (3) teams executed the warrants simultaneously in their respective areas. Team members were also on the lookout for other persons that had outstanding warrants not related to the operation. The charges ranged from Possession of Drugs, Aggravated/Trafficking in Drugs to Weapons Under Disability, all felonies of varying degree. Bonds ranged from No Bond, Own Recognizance to $50,000 Cash/Surety. Those defendants not making bond, will be heard Tuesday, by Holmes County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Warner.
Investigation into all of these cases is continuing.
