Holmes County Commissioners approved several measures at their meeting on Monday.  Among them, the distribution of more than $56,000 worth of bed tax grants.  Commissioners handed out grants, ranging from $1,000 up to $10,000, to ten different organizations.  The money will be used to help each organization promote their respective events.  Also at yesterday’s meeting, commissioners passed a resolution that will allow county employees to receive their normal pay if they choose to serve as poll workers for November’s presidential election.  The resolution was needed because the county is reportedly having trouble finding poll workers, even more so than usual due to COVID-19.
