Holmes County Commissioners approved the transfer of more than $800,000 worth of CARES Act funding into their general fund during their meeting Tuesday. The funding was used to meet payroll expenses for various positions around the county, including public safety, healthcare and other positions that have been dedicated to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the year the commissioners have used CARES Act funding to reimburse nearly two million dollars’ worth of salaries throughout the county.
