Holmes County commissioners have approved a resolution asking the Ohio Department of Transportation to lower the speed limit on three county Roads.  The county is requesting that the speed limit be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph on County Roads 407, 200 and 189.  The reduction in speed was recommended by a recent independent safety study, based on things such as intersections, businesses and the condition of the roads, as well as the number and types of vehicles that use them.  The county says it usually takes about two weeks to hear back from ODOT, once a request is submitted.
