Liability issues have led Holmes County commissioners to alter a new initiative put in place recently by the county’s dog warden.  Freedom Fridays is a program designed to get shelter dogs out of their cages so that they could get some exercise and have more interactions with people.  Commissioners discussed the program yesterday because a shelter dog that was taken to a county building reportedly caused a disturbance.  Moving forward, only service dogs will be allowed in county buildings and Freedom Friday trips will be limited to outdoor activities.
