The Holmes County Historical Society is hosting a retro ’40s event this week.  It will take place on Thursday, from 5-7pm, at the Castle Club Banquet Center.  The event will feature picnic foods, like hot dogs, baked beans and watermelon, along with swing music from the 1940s.  Admission is by donation, with proceeds going toward historical society and cultural center operations.  As a special bonus, the historical society’s Victorian House Museum will also be open that night for a half-price admission of only $5.
