Holmes County Commissioners have approved an agreement between the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association that will increase the starting wage for deputies by 20 percent. Beginning next month, the starting salary for a deputy in Holmes County will be $23.92 an hour. In addition to that 20 percent increase, there will be a three percent raise in January of 2025. Officials say the increases were needed to keep deputy’s salaries in line with those in nearby similar-sized counties.
