The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office says that they have noticed a significant drop in call volume between this year and last year, most likely a result of people staying home due to the Coronavirus pandemic. So far in 2020, they have received 9,712 calls for service, while in 2019 they received 19,013 calls for service. The current pandemic has resulted in a major decrease in reported crashes, disturbances, domestic violence and harassment. Holmes County also noted that there have been just 115 reported injury accidents in 2020, while 2019 had 228.
