Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative has named the winners of its annual Scholarship Contest, which is offered each year to co-op members’ children who are graduating from high school.  Ella Saal, of Northwestern High School, was the winner of the co-op’s first-place $3,000 scholarship.  A total of 35 students from eight local high schools competed for a total of $20,200 in scholarships.  To date, the cooperative has handed out more than $300,000 in scholarships to area students.
