Housing prices increase in Wayne County, fall in Ashland County last year

A shortage in available houses is having an impact of the local housing market. Ashland and Wayne Counties both saw small gains in houses sold last year, with Ashland seeing a .7% gain, and Wayne a .9% increase. Ashland County saw 418 houses sold total in 2019, up from 415 in 2018, while Wayne County had 1,032 houses sold last year, compared to 1,023 in 2018. The average sale price in Ashland County was $145,000 last year, which was a .3% decrease, while Wayne County saw a 3% increase in price from just over $162,000 in 2018 to just over $167,600 in 2019.
