Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez brought in a run with an RBI sacrifice groundout in the 6th, making it a 4-2 ball game. It was all Tampa Bay after that, with a Ji-Man Choi RBI double in the 7th and an RBI single in the 9th, along with another 2-run home run by Austin Meadows in the 9th as well, winning the game for the Rays by a score of 8-2. Indians starting pitcher J.C. Mejia went 6 innings pitched, striking out 6 batters but allowing 7 hits and 5 earned runs.
