The Yankees and Indians traded bad defensive innings, and the Yankees took the lead late to win the opner of a four game set 6-3.

The Indians scored three runs in the first inning thanks to abd defensive play by the Yankess, but the Indians returned the favor with some bad defense in the third which allowed the Yankees to tie the game at three. The Yankees would then add two more in the seventh en route to the 6-3 win. Aaron Civale worked 5.1 giving up two earn runs, three total runs, with six strikeouts but four walks, Nick Wittgren took the loss, he is now 0-1 on the season.

The Indians and Yankees play game two of their four game series Friday night with first pitch at 7:10 p.m.
