The J.M. Smucker Company is planning layoffs throughout North America as the company continues to adjust to consumer’s and their habits. The company stated that an unspecified number of employees will be laid off as the company restructures and reshapes its brands. The pandemic has forced many companies to readjust as consumer habits and needs changed, and Smucker is no exception. The company sold the cat and dog food brand Natural Balance in December, while also selling the Crisco brand last year. No date for the layoffs has been set, as the company said they only make those decisions after careful consideration.
