A 5k run to help benefit the Wayne County Humane Society will take place next weekend. The Dog Running 5k, which was organized by Nathan Quinn who is a local dog runner, is set to help raise funds for the Humane Society after the two biggest fundraisers, the Christmas in July and Paws in Park Pawty were canceled this year due to the coronavirus. The 5k will have an in-person and virtual option, with runners only participants will cost $25, with a dog running will cost $30, and virtual runners will cost $35. A GoFundMe page has also been set up for those that can’t attend but would like to donate. The proceeds will go to helping the Wayne County Humane Society buy food, as well as pay for medical and emergency services.
