The Opiate Task Force Prevention Committee is teaming with the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes County to distribute bags that will help get excess prescription drugs off the streets. The groups are distributing Deterra bags throughout the community. The bags help deactivate medications by combining them with carbon and water. The bags can neutralize 45 pills, 6 ounces of liquid or six dermal patches each, and can be thrown right in the trash. The Mental Health & Recovery Board received a grant to purchase 7,000 of the bags.
