A volunteer firefighter in Rittman will have open heart surgery on Monday for a serious heart condition that was discovered after he was hospitalized earlier this month for a bacterial infection. 41-year old Mike Riding says he likely never would have known that one of his arteries was nearly completely blocked if it hadn’t been for the infection. A GoFundMe page has already raised more than $4,000 to help with Riding’s medical bills, while a separate account has also been set up at Huntington Bank.
