A West Salem woman is speaking out about the Ohio Department of Transportation’s new wrong-way driver detection system.  Sandi Churby lost her 27-year old son Clintin in a wrong-way driver crash back in October of 2020.  A 63-year-old man was drunk and driving the wrong way on I-76, near Akron, when the fatal crash occurred.  Sandi is hoping the $1.8 million dollar project, which calls for the installation of flashing wrong-way signs at 25 ODOT exit and entrance ramps in Cuyahoga County will be completed this year. However, ODOT says the project can’t be expedited due to ongoing supply chain issues and the hope is to complete it early next year.
