During Monday’s Holmes County Commissioners’ meeting, a longtime county resident presented commissioners with a framed photo of the old Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, which currently serves as the commissioners’ office. David Weiss said the photo, which was taken sometime around 1880, was courtesy of Miriam DeWitt, a longtime employee of the County Auditor’s Office, who recently passed away.
