Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield will be out some time with a high ankle sprain, which he suffered late in the 37-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Mayfield will reportedly be out “a couple of weeks” with the injury and was seen arriving to the postgame press conference in a walking boot.

So far in five games with the Panthers, Mayfield is completing 54.9% of his passed for 962 yards while throwing four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Quarterback P.J. Walker is set to start for the Panthers on the road against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, October 16th, with Sam Darnold still nursing an ankle sprain he suffered in August.
