The Baker Mayfield era is officially over in Cleveland, with the former No. 1 overall pick in 2018 being traded to the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers send a conditional fifth-round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to Cleveland Browns in exchange for Mayfield, who reportedly formally requested a trade back in March.

Mayfield spent four seasons in Cleveland, throwing for over 14,000 passing yards along 92 touchdowns and 56 interceptions in 60 games. Mayfield also helped lead the Browns to their first playoff win since 1995, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round back in the 2020-21 season.

The Cleveland Browns will begin their 2022 regular season campaign on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 11th, with a 1 p.m. kick-off.
