The City of Medina has named a new Fire Chief, following the retirement of Bob Painter, who retired in December. Fire Captain Larry Walters, who has been with the Medina Fire Department since 1992, was appointed as Fire Chief on Friday. Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell says Walters was a top candidate throughout the entire selection process, which included both written testing and several interviews. Walters has 25 years of experience as a firefighter, lieutenant, captain, and with hazardous waste and FEMA.
