Two Medina County men who escaped from the Lorain-Medina Community Based Correctional Facility in December have been placed back under court supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges. Following their Dec. 7 escape and Dec. 9 recapture, 28-year-old Johnny Brooks and 37-year old Steven Carpenter pleaded guilty to two counts of escape and one count of vandalism. Jamie Veltri, a woman authorities said was believed to be Carpenter’s girlfriend and whom authorities said was involved in the duo’s escape is also facing felony charges of escape and possession of criminal tools.
