Officials in Medina County are searching for the culprit of a fake 911 call that sent multiple agencies, including SWAT to a family’s home in Gloria Glens. The call came in over the weekend, with the caller claiming he had an AR-15 and was planning on harming his family. Authorities set up a perimeter around the home, but were finally able to get a hold of the family and found the call to be a SWATTING hoax. The call is believed to be a result of video gaming, which has seen a spike in SWATTING calls over the last few years. Officials have indicated the call came from Arkansas, and continue to investigate.
