Medina County Park Rangers are now equipped for ice rescues thanks to a grant from Friends of Medina County Parks. The non-profit organization gave the Medina County Park District $2,500 to purchase the ice rescue gear, which include ice rescue suits, rope throw bags, and floating rescue ropes. After a man fell through the ice at River Styx Park earlier this year, the need for the gear hit home for the park district and rangers. Rangers also completed a two-day training course that was conducted by the Medina County All-Hazards Team and Medina County Emergency Management Agency.
