Residents in Medina County who have been pushing to be able to vote on the proposed courthouse project were dealt a heavy blow recently. According to Medina County Commissioners, there is no mechanism in the Ohio Revised Code that allows the commissioners to put the issue on the ballot for the public to vote on it. The courthouse project, which would see the building built in 1969 torn down and then have Medina Municipal Court move into the older portion in a shared building plan, would cost roughly $38 million.
