The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a rise in the theft of catalytic converters.  15 catalytic converters have been reported stolen off of vehicles within the last month.  The Sheriff’s office says that very few junkyards in Medina County though will actually accept the parts, so the thieves are likely selling them off in the Akron or Cleveland areas.  Residents are advised to park their vehicles at night in either a garage or a well-lit area.
