A group of citizens in Medina are taking their concerns about the City of Medina and the current courthouse project to the Ohio Supreme Court. The Save Your Courthouse Committee has filed a motion with the state’s high court to keep the city from putting a ballot initiative on the May 4th ballot that would overturn Issue 7. Issue 7 was passed in November and was used to keep the city of Medina from joining in on the joint courthouse project that would have seen the municipal court move into the 1969 portion of the county courthouse and would have seen the city contribute roughly 8 million dollars to that project. The new county courthouse project regardless of the lawsuit will begin this spring.
