The Medina man who falsely claimed to be a long missing Illinois boy was sentenced to two years behind bars Tuesday. 25-year-old Brian Rini was sentenced in district court in Cincinnati, and after his sentence is over, he will spend one year of probation. Rini had claimed in 2019 to be Timothy Pitzen, a boy from Illinois who had disappeared in 2011. DNA showed that Rini had lied about his identity, and Rini eventually admitted to lying. Rini will get credit for time already served but must also get mental health treatment.
