Voters in Medina turned out in force to force the city to not join in on the courthouse project. Issue 7 in Medina was an initiative to keep the city from using taxpayer money to join in on the courthouse project, which would have seen the city move the Municipal Court into the 1841 portion of the building, as well as getting a floor in the new portion of the building. The county will move on with the project, which will now be trimmed to $30 million and will just be a four floor project instead of five. The city won’t be able to try and do anything with the project now for the next five years.
