The police chief in Millersburg is publicly defending his department after it was criticized at last month’s village council meeting.  Chief Matt Shaner spoke at this week’s council meeting, where he said much of the criticism, which involved an incident at a Dollar General store, was unfounded.  Shaner also addressed a major drop in speeding tickets within the village over the past two years, citing COVID and longer shifts where his officers worked alone as two of the main reasons fewer tickets were issued.  Council members thanked Shaner for taking the time to address the complaints.
