RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes have a two-games-to-none lead in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs following a very chippy 5-2 win over the Boston Bruins. Sebastian Aho  and Nino Niederreiter  each scored twice. Tony DeAngelo had three assists for the Atlantic Division leaders, who finished the game without Antti Raanta  due to a head injury suffered when hit by David Pastrnak.

UNDATED (AP) — The Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers were able to even their Stanley Cup first-round series at a game apiece, with Victor Hedman providing a goal and three assists in the Bolts’ 5-3 win at Toronto. Kirill Kaprizov had a hat trick and Joel Eriksson Ek scored twice as the Wild whipped St. Louis, 6-2. Evander Kane had two goals and an assist to back Mike Smith’s 30-save performance in the Oilers’ 6-0 shutout of the Kings.
