The Northwestern Local Schools have agreed to spend money from the permanent improvement fund to help replace the gym floor at the middle school. Around $60,000 will be used from the fund to help cover the total cost of around $193,000. The middle school gym floor sustained major water damage for which the district has filed an insurance claim. The district says that once the floor is installed, the insurance company will also reimburse the district for all but the $2,500 deductible.
