In an effort to meet its long-term expansion needs, the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman has purchased the Rawiga Golf Club.  The cemetery’s director says the $1.7 million purchase of the 156-acre course, which is located directly to the south of the cemetery, not only secures land for its eventual expansion, but also lets the golf course remain a golf course for the foreseeable future.  The deal reached by the two parties allows Rawiga’s owners to lease back the property until the cemetery needs to expand.  During that time, estimated to be at least seven years and possibly more than a decade, the golf course will continue to operate without any noticeable changes.
