One person killed in four-car accident

A four-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon in Chippewa Township claimed the life of a woman from the Youngstown area.  The crash occurred at around 4pm on State Route 585, just north of State Route 94.  According to the Highway Patrol, 34-year old Karlene Rantamaki went left of center and sideswiped two vehicles.  Her car then crossed back over the center line and struck the side of a third vehicle.  The three people in that car were taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries, while Rantamaki was pronounced dead at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.
